The Coalition of Multicultural Organizations continued its “Livin’ in Color” week with a performance by African drummer and performer Christian Adeti of the Titambe West African Dance Ensemble Tuesday night in Scooter’s.
Adeti led students in a call-and-response, and he would show them a dance routine and ask them to repeat it back. It started off slow, but students quickly caught on.
“It was extremely fun, and I was just glad to be a part of it,” freshman Codi Soeun said. “I’m happy they’re bringing such diversity to campus.”
According to Unis Doeway, public relations chair for the African Nation Student Alliance, the movements in the dance symbolize everything ranging from emotions to the daily routine.
