Field goal from the 40-yard line wins kicking contest

The third annual field-goal kicking contest was held Monday, Oct. 4 at Palmer Field. The event lasted from 5 p.m. to 6:45 p.m. and was organized by senior Marguerite Maginot, the intramural supervisor.

The contest was open to all students, except JV and varsity football players. Faculty and staff were also invited to participate. Of the 13 students who participated in the event, seven were on the men’s soccer team.

Senior soccer midfielder Reid Moser-Bleil was able to boot the football through the uprights from the 40-yard line, making it a 50-yard field goal. As a reward, Moser-Bleil received a free T-shirt from St. Thomas Intramurals. He is now the record holder for the field-goal kicking contest.
