St. Thomas men’s basketball traveled to Oshkosh, Wisconsin for the NCAA Sweet Sixteen to face unranked Guilford College on Friday. The Tommies fell to the Quakers, 73-80.
Senior Michael Hannon had the most points for St. Thomas with 28, including five 3-pointers and first-year Anders Nelson added 13.
St. Thomas women’s basketball advanced to the NCAA Final Four after defeating no. 11 Wartburg College 85-56 on Saturday. The Tommies were led by senior guard Lucia Renikoff, who added 22 points to the dominant win.
This was the second time this season the Tommies and Knights played each other, with Wartburg taking the win in December.
The team will travel to Salem, Virginia to face no. 3 seed Bowdoin College on March 15.
St. Thomas women’s hockey punched their ticket to the Frozen Four on Saturday, besting UW-Eau Claire 4-3.
Estee Frantz and Sarah Moy led the tommies with one goal and one assist each. Anna Erickson and Rachel Werdin also a goal a piece to push the Tommies past the Blu-Golds.
Women’s hockey will play Hamline Friday March 15 at the St. Thomas Ice Arena.
