Following the multiple bomb threats on campus, St. Thomas is asking students to think about their own personal safety plans in case of emergencies. The university advises students to choose an off-campus location that they feel comfortable going to in an emergency situation.

Once a location is chosen, the university recommends students take a few questions into consideration, such as, what are the available exits and who would you inform of your whereabouts? Check here for the full story.

An Olmsted County jury will resume deliberations in the retrial of a Rochester man accused of fatally shooting a 17-year-old boy in a confrontation over a traffic accident. Alexander Weiss is being retried for 2nd-degree murder in the death of Muhammed Rahim on January 14, 2018. Weiss claimed self-defense, saying Rahim confronted him following the collision.

A jury could not reach a verdict in the first trial last May and a judge declared a mistrial. KTTC-TV reports the jury deliberated about eight hours Tuesday and requested another look at bodycam video from one of the first officers on scene that day, as well as surveillance video from a nearby apartment building.

German Chancellor Angela Merkel’s spokesman is making clear that Germany will approve a further delay to Britain’s departure from the European Union, but isn’t saying how long it should be. Steffen Seibert told reporters in Berlin on Wednesday that “an extension will not fail because of Germany.”

Seibert wouldn’t elaborate, citing planned consultations between European Council President Donald Tusk and leaders of the 27 remaining EU members. Tusk said Tuesday night that he would recommend that the EU grant Britain’s request for an extension to the Oct. 31 Brexit deadline. If approved, it would be the third delay to Brexit, which was originally scheduled for late March.
