The St. Thomas Women’s Basketball Team won its first NCAA Division I game on Thursday night defeating South Carolina State University 65-50.
Grad student forward Erin Norling led the team with 19 points
The Tommies continue its play in South Carolina Saturday against Presbyterian at noon.
The St. Thomas men’s hockey team fell to No.3-ranked Mankato State University 9-0 Thursday in Mankato.
The Mavericks, an NCAA Frozen Four tournament finalist last season, had 13 players put up points by the end of the game.
The teams will face each other again at St. Thomas Ice arena Saturday at noon.
First-year Elizabeth Bonneville was selected as Summit League Women’s Swimmer of the Week on Tuesday.
Bonneville contributed to three winning relays and three individual wins against Minnesota State University and St. Cloud State University.
