In the United States, President Joe Biden and Australia’s Prime Minister Anthony Albanese met in the White House today in order to talk over support for Ukraine and Israel. The two leaders also plan on discussing economic development among Pacific island nations.
Drought and high temperatures in Brazil have caused record-low water levels in the Amazon’s second-largest tributary, the Negro River. Low water levels have left boats and houseboats stranded in riverside communities.
In response, the state’s humanitarian aid is working to distribute food and drinking water to these communities affected by the drought.
In Minnesota, a lawsuit has been made against the city of Minneapolis accusing the city of unjust enforcement of housing codes. The suit was filed by eight former Northside residents in an attempt to force the city to assign more housing code inspectors to north Minneapolis, where residents have complained of landlords who allow properties to fall into disrepair, but face few consequences.
