MN ice cream maker withdraws some product

ST. PAUL, Minn.— St. Paul-based Izzy’s Ice Cream is voluntarily withdrawing three flavors of ice cream after discovering glass fragments in a supplier’s container of cinnamon.

Izzy’s bought the cinnamon from a third party and uses it in three flavors. Izzy’s has not received any complaints and has not found any evidence of glass in any of its retail products.

The three flavors are Soy (Non-Dairy) Pumpkin, Pumpkin and Cinnamon ice cream. The ice cream was sold between Nov. 7 and Dec. 31 in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area under the Izzy’s brand only and was available at grocery stores, restaurants and Izzy’s Ice Cream Cafe.

The affected lots begin with 1211 or 1212.

Consumers may discard the product or return it for a refund.

  1. This is not a good news… but thanks for sharing this post. Will just discard this product for the mean time until further info from the company.
