Robert Vischer inaugurated as St. Thomas’ 16th president
Robert K. Vischer was inaugurated Friday as the University of St. Thomas’ 16th president after a nationwide search to fill the office. Vischer’s selection followed his year-long tenure as interim president after the departure of his predecessor, Julie Sullivan. Sullivan was in attendance during the inauguration and wished Vischer well in a video recording.
St. Thomas student creates a new speech and debate team planning to start next year
Finding out who you really are is what college is all about. St. Thomas first-year student Kitty Marsh plans to help others find their confidence with the new speech and debate team on campus. Marsh fell in love with speech and debate in high school, when it helped her find herself and reach her goals. Abby Madsen has the story.

The Republican-led House passed a bill Thursday that would bar federally supported schools and colleges from allowing transgender athletes whose biological sex assigned at birth was male to compete on girls or women’s sports teams.
