Men’s basketball wins MIAC championship after beating Gustavus 83-77
John Nance’s career-high 20 points off the bench led the St. Thomas men’s basketball team to an 83-77 victory over Gustavus in the MIAC championship Sunday afternoon. The win secures St. Thomas a bid in the NCAA tournament and is the program’s 1,500th all-time victory.
Some students resorting to sleeping pills
Like other young adults across the country, some St. Thomas students are resorting to using sleeping pills at night. Use of sleep aids among 18- to 24-year-olds tripled between 1998 and 2008, according to a Thomson Reuters report.

A physical game Saturday afternoon between the St. Thomas women’s hockey team and St. Catherine’s ended in a 2-2 tie.

Peter Wright’s gutsy performance Saturday afternoon at the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex helped the St. Thomas men’s tennis team defeat the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse and get its first victory of the season.
