The St. Thomas men’s swimming team beat St. Mary’s University and Carleton College to take first place at a meet Saturday at the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.

Senior All-American running back Ben Wartman rushed for 93 yards and two touchdowns in a St. Thomas win over Carleton 38-7. Wartman broke the school’s all-time touchdown record with 47 career scores.

Women’s soccer beats Gustavus 3-1
The Tommies won their second consecutive game Wednesday when they defeated the Gustavus Gusties 3-1 at St. Thomas’ South Field.

St. Thomas had 484 yards of total offense in a 61-14 win over the Hamline Pipers Saturday. Quarterback Dakota Tracy led the Tommies with 221 passing yards for four touchdowns.

After leading 14-10 to start the second half, St. Thomas scored 20 points in the third quarter to open up the lead. All-American Ben Wartman rushed for 118 yards and a touchdown.

The Tommies battled the Johnnies Saturday in Collegeville. After a disappointing loss in overtime last year, St. Thomas redeemed itself by beating St. John’s 27-26.
