Some seniors choose year of service after graduation

Some St. Thomas seniors won’t be entering the work force after graduating but will be giving back to the community through volunteer work.

‘Spread the Word to End the Word’ back for second year

The Special Olympics Club sponsored the second annual “Spread the Word to End the Word” campaign this week, where students pledged to stop saying the word “retard” or “retarded.”

Gavin DeGraw to headline spring concert

STAR announced Wednesday that Gavin DeGraw will headline the spring concert Saturday, May 14. DeGraw will perform from 9 p.m. to midnight in the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex.

Swing dancing Victory Ball celebrates WWII veterans

The second annual Victory Ball sponsored by the Swing Dance Club was held Saturday, April 30. The event included World War II uniforms, music from the 40s, old-fashioned hairstyles and swing dance lessons.

Twenty-five St. Thomas students and one graduate student will be among the crowds on Divine Mercy Sunday when Pope John Paul II is beatified, which is the first step in becoming a saint in the Catholic Church.

University will use ESPN press box to advertise at Target Field
