The University of St. Catherine announced Feb. 2 that it will be dropping its interior design program for financial and low enrollment reasons, affecting St. Thomas students who are enrolled as an interior design major as part of the ACTC program.
St. Thomas uses Arrupe College as model for two-year program

FemCom hosts first-ever healthy sex panel discussion at St. Thomas
Students gathered in Woulfe Alumni Hall on March 13 for a healthy sex teach-in hosted by St. Thomas’ Feminist Community, which featured a panel of seven St. Thomas students from a variety of sexual identities who talked candidly about their experiences with sex and sexuality.

St. Thomas seemed to be on the cutting edge in the 1990s when music professor Christopher Kachian developed its first completely online course. Since then, however, the university’s online course offering has been relatively stagnant.

$3.2 million athletic field upgrade to begin at St. Thomas this summer
St. Thomas will break ground this summer on major repairs and upgrades to the athletic fields. Among the projects is the installation of new artificial turf in O’Shaughnessy Stadium and the Koch Diamond baseball field, a new track and general stadium maintenance.

St. Thomas to host national business plan competition
The Schulze School of Entrepreneurship is hosting two divisions of competitions for students with a business plan — one is for local high school and St. Thomas graduate and undergraduate students, and the other is for undergraduate students nationwide.
Cadenza, Summit Singers, Wako collaborate on “Where is the Love”
The highlight was their final song, a collaboration between the Summit Singers and sophomore Wako Wako to “Where is the Love” by the Black Eyed Peas.
Tommie Award nominee biographies
Voting is now open for the 2017 Tommie Award nominees. The preliminary voting, ending on Dec. 8, will narrow the the field down from 17 to three finalists.
St. Thomas students write petition addressing sexual assault
Nine St. Thomas students wrote a petition in response to St. Thomas’ email in November addressing sexual assault on campus.
