Senior left-handed pitcher Bryce Gapinski’s career-best 11 strikeouts helped the top-seeded St. Thomas baseball team (35-8) defeat the eighth-seeded St. Norbert (26-12) 5-1 in the first round of the NCAA Division III regional tournament.

Men’s lacrosse defeats University of Minnesota
The St. Thomas men’s lacrosse team defeated the University of Minnesota 8-3 Sunday afternoon at TCF Bank Stadium. The Tommies used the victory to bounce back from a 7-6 loss to St. John’s in Collegeville on Saturday.
Men’s tennis falls to St. Olaf for first conference loss
St. Olaf College defeated the St. Thomas men’s tennis team 7-2 Saturday in St. Paul. The Tommies lost two of their initial three doubles matches, which put them in a hole once their singles matches began.
Former Tommie pitcher becomes a Saint
Former St. Thomas pitching ace Matt Schuld’s path to Major League Baseball has taken a slight detour. Schuld was cut by the Minnesota Twins organization in late March but will play his first game as a St. Paul Saint in May.
Gapinski strikes out 10 as baseball team sweeps UW-Oshkosh in doubleheader
Three St. Thomas pitchers combined for 20 strikeouts as the baseball team swept the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh Tuesday afternoon at the Metrodome. The Tommies held on to win a close 3-1 first game and won second game against the Titans 6-1.
