Senior Class Gift Committee brings yoga to the quad
The class was similar to a C1 entry-level class at CorePower, designed around a Vinyasa style of yoga. Vinyasa yoga is one of the most commonly practiced styles in the West.
Students raise more than $28,000 for Relay for Life
Forty teams registered for the event, which lasted from 7 p.m. April 30 to 7 a.m. May 1, to raise money for cancer research. About 350 students helped raise $28,520, an increase from last year’s $28,000.
MEISA’s Kickoff Concert showcases three St. Thomas bands
Lotus Eater, Grape Whales, and Pretty Perry and the Kidney Stones performed at the St. Thomas Music and Entertainment Industry Student Association Kickoff Concert Wednesday night.

Students sign petitions to end Libyan violence
Students signed petitions that addressed the refugee situation in Libya and that presented possible solutions to ending the violence, such as a no-fly zone over Libya to halt airstrikes.
Students, neighbors hold ‘Celebrate the Green Space’ event on proposed tennis court site
St. Thomas students and St. Paul neighbors met Sunday afternoon in the open space behind the Brady Educational Center, where the university is considering building tennis courts, as part of the Celebrate the Green Space event.
Women’s basketball loses MIAC championship game 71-61 to Concordia-Moorhead
Erica Nord’s 17 points were too much for the St. Thomas women’s basketball team as it lost the MIAC playoff championship game to Concordia-Moorhead 71-61 Saturday at home.
The loss hit hard after an exhilarating 50-48 win against Gustavus Thursday night. Coach Ruth Sinn said being on defense for a majority of the game made it difficult to get back on track.

Women’s basketball gets revenge in 61-50 win over St. Kate’s
Surviving St. Kate’s strong second-half effort, the St. Thomas women’s basketball team escaped with a 61-50 win Saturday at home; an important win as the MIAC playoffs approach.
The Tommies were prepared for an aggressive game against St. Kate’s and were motivated to win after losing 73-68 to the Wildcats Jan. 15.
