Engineering professors propose on-campus wind turbine
As new building construction prevails on campus, students may see yet another project begin next fall with a current proposal to install a small wind turbine as soon as this summer.

Procter & Gamble recalled two versions of Pringles chips because of concerns about potential salmonella exposure.
The Cincinnati-based consumer products maker said Cheeseburger and Taco Night versions of the snack are recalled. The company is offering replacement coupons or refunds.
Winter Olympics get mixed reactions from students
An estimated 510,000 people in the Twin Cities tuned in to watch the 2010 Winter Olympics kick off Friday night in Vancouver.
According to KARE-TV, the NBC affiliate in the Minneapolis/St. Paul market, the numbers have continued to stay above 400,000 viewers since the beginning of the games.
Youth, depth lead men’s tennis to win over Cobbers
Despite top singles player junior Tyler Rice falling in a tiebreaker, the St. Thomas men’s tennis team topped Concordia-Moorhead 8-1 Friday night at the University of Minnesota’s Baseline Tennis Center.
Tour through Italy let wind ensemble ‘serve the culture’
After spending 11 days and performing five concerts in Italy during J-Term, students in the St. Thomas wind ensemble returned to the United States on Jan. 27.
“All of it was amazing, but perhaps the most salient moment was being greeted by the Villafrati band in a small town in Sicily,” said Matthew George, ensemble director.
St. Paul declares snow emergency
The City of St. Paul has issued a snow emergency effective 9 p.m. tonight. Included are all streets posted with signs that say “NIGHT PLOW ROUTE” and one side of all north-south residential streets posted with signs that say “NIGHT PLOW ROUTE-THIS SIDE OF STREET.”

Tommie grad becomes Seahawks’ general manager
The front office of the rebuilding Seattle Seahawks announced the organization’s next general manager Tuesday.
That man is none other than 1993 St. Thomas graduate, John Schneider.
