The audio and video “sting operations” by Live Action, that exposed Planned Parenthood clinics have spurred controversy about lying. Such a controversy led Catholic Studies Master’s program students to chose the question, “Can It Be Morally Permissible to Assert a Falsehood in Service of a Good Cause?” for its Easter Disputation.
Motion sensor lights going up in residence halls
Physical plant electricians already installed sensors in some kitchens and laundry areas in Morrison Hall. The motion sensors will be installed in all residence halls and the Anderson Student Center before the end of summer.

Students look for jobs at Employment Agencies Information Fair
Seventeen companies participated in the fair. The companies offer short-term contract jobs for the summer as well as full-time employment for graduating seniors.
Softball beats Concordia-Moorhead 9-1, 8-2
St. Thomas beat Concordia-Moorhead in both games of Thursday’s doubleheader after consistent hitting by the Tommies. St. Thomas is now 22-4 overall and 8-0 in the MIAC and will play at Hamline at 1 p.m. Saturday.

Neighborhood livability survey suggests relations are at ‘tipping point’
Residents are concerned with increased student house rentals in the neighborhood. The percent of non-homestead residences, which are residences that are not the owner’s principal home, rose from 23.9 percent in 2002 to 40.5 percent in 2009 in the neighborhood surrounding St. Thomas.

Student tobacco use decreases at St. Thomas
A recent survey of more than 7,000 Minnesota residents found that the state’s adult tobacco use has decreased during the past 11 years, and that trend is reflected at St. Thomas as well.

Women’s hockey loses to River Falls 5-2
An open-net goal capped a 5-2 Wisconsin-River Falls victory, as the St. Thomas women’s hockey team (9-8-2 overall) fell to the No. 2 Falcons Wednesday evening at home.
The Tommies got things going first, scoring two first-period goals, but could not keep the Falcons in check defensively.
