The eerie Cretin Hall basement opened its doors Wednesday night for the 10th annual “Haunted Cretin” event.
Hundreds packed the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex for a dedication ceremony Wednesday. Lee and Penny Anderson and other donors were recognized for their generous contributions at the ceremony.
This year’s homecoming events will include St. Thomas’ first dance in the new Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex field house Saturday night.
There was no homecoming dance last year because of construction. The dance will last from 9 p.m. until 1 a.m., and students should expect “a top-notch experience”, said Associate Director of Campus Life Matthew Gustafson.
Hundreds of St. Thomas freshman women put their skills on display as teams from Dowling Hall, JP2 Hall, and Murray Hall took part in a fun and competitive flag football tournament.

Junior Noah Kaiser transferred to St. Thomas from St. John’s after his freshman year to be closer to home and to play basketball as a Tommie.
As an athlete who has participated in the infamous Tommie-Johnnie rivalry, Kaiser understands how exciting Saturday’s football game will be.
It was the Fritz Waldvogel show for St. Thomas on Saturday as the Tommies opened conference play with a bang, dominating St. Olaf 49-14 in Northfield, Minn.
The Tommies posted its highest point total of the year as St. Olaf could find no answer for the speedy Waldvogel, a junior kick returner and receiver.
The first half of today’s football game belonged to junior Fritz Waldvogel and St. Thomas as the Tommies went into halftime ahead 28-0 over St. Olaf in Northfield.
After defeating the University of Wisconsin-River Falls 27-3 last Saturday, St. Thomas now sets its sights on undefeated St. Olaf.
Sophomore Jerry Hills started using the popular website, ratemyprofessors.com, when he was a freshman.
“I had a few friends let me know what it was all about, and I thought it was really interesting to see how others thought my professors were like,” Hills said.
The scoring came early and often for the St. Thomas men’s soccer team (2-1) as it recorded all three of its goals in the first half to defeat Northwestern College 3-0.
