Public Safety briefs
On Dec. 22 at 3:37 p.m., Public Safety reported a burglary on the 2000 block of Dayton Avenue. A UST student reported their off-campus residence was entered without authorization and a checkbook was stolen.

On Dec. 7 at 4 p.m., Public Safety reported a theft from vehicle at Summit and Grotto avenues. A UST student, whose vehicle was parked in a lot at the intersection, reported their window was smashed and a UST trombone was stolen.
St. Thomas community remembers sophomore killed in house fire
About 100 people attended a prayer service Saturday at St. Thomas’ Florence Chapel to remember sophomore Michael “Carson” Larson, who died in a house fire early Saturday at 1795 Selby Ave., which is next to the Blue Door Pub.
St. Thomas sophomore killed in house fire Saturday morning
A St. Thomas student was killed in a house fire on the 1700 block of Selby Avenue Saturday morning, according to Doug Hennes, vice president of university relations.
The student, 20-year-old sophomore Michael Larson from Woodbury, was sleeping on a couch when the fire broke out, and he was dead by the time firefighters arrived and broke down the door, Hennes said. The house, at 1795 Selby Ave., is next to the Blue Door Pub.
