NEW YORK (AP) — Former police captain Eric Adams easily won the race for New York mayor Tuesday, and Boston elected its first woman and Asian American to the city’s top job as voters across the U.S. picked local leaders who were largely defined by their stances on police and crime.
Incumbent Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey fell short of claiming victory Tuesday, but leads the race with 42.79% of the vote, needing 50% to win outright with Minneapolis’ ranked-choice voting.
Incumbent Melvin Carter won the St. Paul mayoral race with 61.64% of the vote. He was followed by Dino Guerin, who got 12.61%.
