The St. Thomas men’s hockey team defeated Lake Superior State 2-1 Friday at St. Thomas Ice Arena and lost 5-1 against the Lakers Saturday at home. The St. Thomas women’s hockey team lost 7-1 against No. 1-ranked University of Minnesota, the St. Thomas women’s basketball team lost 73-46 against the University of South Dakota, the St. Thomas Swim and Dive team is competing in the first-ever Summit League Championships in Fargo, and the St. Thomas men’s basketball team lost 81-60 against the University of South Dakota. With three Tommies competing in 2022, St. Thomas adds to its Olympic footprint

The Tommies received national attention with their Division I debut last fall and now fans from around the world are cheering on two St. Thomas women’s hockey players and their coach during the 2022 Winter Olympics in Beijing. First-year goaltender Saskia Maurer and first-year defender Nicole Vallario are representing Switzerland while their coach, Joel Johnson, coaches reigning 2018 Winter Olympics champion Team USA.
