COVID-19 UPDATE: Nine positive tests marks two week increase

Nine positive COVID-19 tests were reported by the Center for Well-Being last week, an increase of four from the previous week.

This is the second week in a row that cases have risen, increasing from one case reported the week of Feb. 20.

This number includes eight students and one staff member. Six cases were from the St. Paul campus.

The Minnesota Department of Health has administered at least one vaccine dose to over 1.2 million Minnesotans as of March 13, and over 700,000 people with the completed vaccine series. Over 200,000 vaccines were administered in Minnesota last week.

MDH has also reported 498,218 positive cases statewide as of today.

According to the university’s COVID-19 Dashboard, more than 50% of quarantine spaces are available and the university’s contact tracing staff are able to interview 90-100% of positive cases reported to the university within 24 hours over a seven day average.
