Thirteen positive COVID-19 cases were reported last week by St. Thomas’ Center for Well-Being Monday, a decrease of 16 from the previous week.
Eleven came from students, and two came from employees. Two individuals from the Minneapolis campus were also included in the weekly total.
Family members of St. Thomas students and staff are now eligible to receive their first, second or both doses of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine through the university, an email to students and staff from the Center for Well-Being said Monday.
Vaccinations will begin Friday, April 23 and go into Saturday and Monday at McCarthy Gym. St. Thomas community members are asked to forward the sign up email to family members.
An email invitation to schedule an appointment for the second dose will be sent out the week of May 3 for the vaccine clinic on May 14, 15 and 17.
338,879 Minnesotans received vaccine doses last week, bringing the total tally of Minnesotans with at least one dose to nearly 2.3 million, according to the Minnesota Department of Health. Around 1.6 million Minnesotans have been fully vaccinated.
MDH also reported 557,665 positive COVID-19 tests statewide since the beginning of the pandemic.
According to the university’s COVID-19 Dashboard, more than 50% of quarantine spaces are available and the university’s contact tracing staff are able to interview 90-100% of positive cases reported to the university within 24 hours over a seven day average.
