The St. Thomas baseball team will start defending its national championship tomorrow morning with inter-squad scrimmages on Koch Diamond.
Coach Dennis Denning and the rest of the Tommies begin the fall schedule with close to 90 players, Denning said.
Freshmen and new players will play in the early game at 9 a.m., while returning players will follow at approximately 12:30 p.m.
St. Thomas won the Division III College World Series baseball championship May 26. Senior Dan Leslie won the game with his one-out walk-off single in the 12th inning that gave St. Thomas a 3-2 victory over Wooster (Ohio).
