Tickets went on sale at noon in the Box Office and Expeditions and at 1 p.m., 30 students were still standing in line for their chance to buy a ticket. Starting with the Oct. 21 game against Colorado, seats were available in the upper deck for up to $23 less than the online price.

Students also entered into a drawing for two suite tickets to see Minnesota play Carolina on Oct. 24.

“This is a great deal,” said senior Robert Schulzetenberg. “We at least know our activities fee is doing some good.”

The Box Office sold tickets in two groups. Students, faculty and staff could buy up to two tickets for one of six games at $26 a piece, while tickets to six other games were part of a $10 undergrad-only deal that included a mandatory bus ride.

Tickets in similar sections of the Xcel Center are going for $33.27 on Ticketmaster.com with charges and taxes included.
