TommieMedia will be publishing a series of profiles of past Tommie Award winners this week, leading up to Friday’s announcement of the 2011 Tommie Award recipient.

Steve Fritz, athletic director and men’s basketball coach, was the recipient of the 1971 “Mr. Tommy” Award, now known as the Tommie Award. This year’s recipient will be the 81st in school history.
