The No. 3 St. Thomas women’s basketball team defeated No. 24 Augsburg 73-54 to claim their eighth consecutive MIAC championship. The women’s basketball team will now look forward to NCAA tournament play. By winning the MIAC championship they are guaranteed a bid into the NCAA tournament. The selection show is today at 2:30 pm.
Third seeded St.Thomas men’s hockey team lost to second seeded St. Johns 4-1 in the MIAC semifinals. The season is over for men’s hockey unless they are selected for the NCAA tournament on March 4th.
St. Thomas women’s tennis received a good test from St. Mary’s before recording a 9-0 victory Saturday at Baseline Tennis Center.

The Tommies (3-0 overall, 1-0 MIAC) received wins in singles and doubles from Tristan Fjelstad, Zach LeVene and Eshan Varma. That trio remains unbeaten this season in singles and doubles.
The No 1 ranked St. Thomas women’s hockey advanced to the MIAC finals after defeating Gustavus 4-0. They will play the No 7 ranked Hamline Pipers who are the only team to defeat the Tommies this season. A win on Saturday would guarantee a birth into the NCAA tournament.
