The St. Thomas football team, led by running Josh Parks, dominated both the air and ground games Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium, giving the Tommies a 37-0 lead against St. Olaf at halftime.
Parks carried the run game with 74 yards and two touchdowns on nine carries in the first half. His longest run went 31 yards for a score. Coming into today’s game, Parks was the MIAC’s leading rusher, with 1,045 yards and 15 touchdowns through seven games.
Quarterback Jacques Perra completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 180 yards and two touchdowns. His longest pass was a 77-yard touchdown connection with wide receiver Vinny Pallini.
Defensive backs Sam Gerrety and Chris Fondakowski both recorded an interception in the first half.
In last year’s meeting between St. Thomas and St. Olaf, the Tommies earned Caruso the highest-scoring win of his coaching tenure, shutting out the Oles 97-0.
