Football shuts out St. Olaf 60-0

Halfback Josh Parks found the end zone twice Saturday at O’Shaughnessy Stadium, guiding the St. Thomas football team to a 60-0 win against St. Olaf.

Parks was one of five running backs to score for the Tommies (5-1 MIAC, 7-1 overall). The senior tailback rushed for 74 yards and the two scores on nine carries. Halfback Tucker Trettel, who spent the majority of the season sidelined with a leg injury, scored his first touchdown on a 1-yard run in the third quarter.

Quarterback Jacques Perra completed 14 of 20 pass attempts for 180 yards and two touchdowns before being pulled at halftime. His longest pass was a 77-yard touchdown connection with wide receiver Vinny Pallini.

The Tommie defense stuffed the Oles run game, allowing -2 rushing yards, and gave up just 55 yards of total offense through the contest. Defensive backs Chris Fondakowski, Sam Gerrety and Shea Gerrety each recorded an interception.

The win was the last home game for St. Thomas. The Tommies head to Gustavus next weekend before closing out the regular season at Bethel.
