The St. Paul Police Department arrested an individual Wednesday afternoon outside of Flynn Hall on St. Thomas’ St. Paul campus. Police officers worked with St. Thomas Public Safety officers to make the arrest, according to Dean of Students Linda Baughman.

St. Thomas Public Safety alerted the campus community via email and text at 2:35 p.m. to “Police activity on the St. Paul Campus center quad area.”

“Earlier today, the St. Paul Police Department contacted the University of St. Thomas about a criminal suspect they were pursuing who fled onto the St. Paul campus. University Public Safety officers assisted police and an arrest was made,” Baughman wrote in a statement published on The Newsroom.

At 2:52 p.m., Public Safety sent an alert stating that police activity had concluded and a suspect was in custody.

Baughman also stated that there was no immediate threat to the St. Thomas community.

The St. Paul Police Department declined to comment on the arrest.
