Patrick Mahomes grew up in Whitehouse, Texas, and attended college at Texas Tech University. He was successful in baseball, even making it as a top prospect in the 2014 Major League Baseball draft, but his commitment to football at Texas Tech interfered with that possibility. Mahomes was selected by the Kansas City Chiefs in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft. His father, Patrick Mahomes Sr., pitched for the Minnesota Twins.
Tom Brady grew up in San Mateo, California, and attended college at the University of Michigan. He was drafted by the Montreal Expos in the 1995 MLB Draft but decided to focus on football instead. The New England Patriots drafted him in the sixth round of the 2000 NFL Draft, and he played 20 seasons with them. This is his first season playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Brady’s mother grew up on a dairy farm in Browerville, Minn.
Starting quarterbacks Mahomes and Brady will play each other for the fifth time this Sunday in Super Bowl LV. Mahomes seeks to defend his Super Bowl win over the 49ers last year against Brady, who has the most Super Bowl titles in NFL history. Check out this graphic to compare these two probable Hall of Fame quarterbacks before they go head to head.
Super Bowl LV will be played on Sunday, Feb. 7 at the Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida.
