Troy Peterson’s 6-yard touchdown run with 4:23 to play in the fourth quarter gave St. Olaf (1-4 MIAC, 2-5 overall) its first conference victory of the season, 32-25, at the expense of host Carleton (1-5, 1-7) at Northfield.
Carleton tied the score at 25-25 with 10:34 to play in the fourth quarter, with Christian Zaytoun passing 9 yards to Zach Creighton for the touchdown. Zaytoun then hit Mack Journell for the critical 2-point conversion.

Carleton got the ball back for one last drive with 43 seconds to play, but Leandro Ferreira forced Zaytoun to fumble, and Colten Yahn recovered with one second remaining.
St. Olaf’s Jack Goldstein passed for 328 yards and two touchdowns on 24 completions in 38 tries. Jorgen Salveson caught seven of Goldstein’s throws for 127 yards.
Zaytoun completed 27 of 46 passes for 305 yards, with Journell catchin six passes for 125 yards.
Concordia 43, Augsburg 15
Landon Moline got Concordia (4-1, 5-2) rolling by returning an interception 43 yards for a touchdown, one of seven players who scored for the Cobbers in a victory at Augsburg (2-4, 2-6). The Concordia defense held Augsburg to an average of 2.9 yards a play on offense.
Concordia rushed for 293 yards, led by Chad Johnson with 87 yards on nine carries.
St. John’s 56, Gustavus Adolphus 10
Sophomore quarterback Ben Alvord, starting his third consecutive game for St. John’s (5-1, 7-1), completed 10 of 14 passes for 221 and three touchdowns, including a 75-yard strike to Evan Clark early in the second quarter of a romp past Gustavus (1-4, 3-4) at St. Peter.
Alvord took over at quarterback for Jackson Erdmann after he went down with a concussion Sept. 24 against St. Thomas. Erdman saw limited action against the Gusties; he threw two passes and completed neither, with one interception.
Seven Johnnies scored touchdowns.
