Little snow and relatively mild temperatures is keeping construction on the Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex on time.
Recent weather cooperation has been helpful with timely deliveries of materials, which keeps production up to speed.
St. Thomas’ Neighborhood Liaison John Hershey said the weather has balanced out the construction’s progress.
“They’re neither ahead or behind,” Hershey said. “October was rough because it was so wet and so cold and it made for muddy conditions and they probably lost a little ground. But they picked it up again in November.”
Preparing for winter, crews are now enclosing parts of the building with plastic and covering windows to insulate the interior and keep working conditions comfortable.
Despite the building’s quickly changing outside appearance, Hershey said there is still a lot of work to do in the interior.
The athletic center is set to open in August.
