A man sought in connection with an attack on a subway train in Brooklyn that left 10 people shot — and once again interrupted New York City’s long journey to post-pandemic normalcy — is now considered a suspect, Mayor Eric Adams said Wednesday. Investigators had initially been searching for an unnamed person of interest.
Police said Tuesday that James rented a van possibly connected to Tuesday’s violence, but that they weren’t sure whether he was responsible for the shooting itself. Adams, speaking to NPR on Wednesday morning, did not offer details on why officials were now seeking suspects beyond citing “new information that became available to the team.”
In Minneapolis, the school board voted to change the names of two schools. Sheridan dual language elementary and Jefferson elementary will get new names this summer. Sheridan, named after the civil war general will be called las estrellas, which means the stars in spanish. Jefferson, named after the third president, will be named Ella Baker after a Minnesota human rights activist.
An early spring storm surged through southern Minnesota Tuesday night wiping out home power lines and farm buildings. A tiny town in Minnesota was hammered, blowing homes off their foundations and injuring two people. The injured were taken to the mayo clinic in rochester for treatment.
