President Donald Trump sought to minimize fear during a press conference Wednesday, reassuring the American people that the U.S. is “very, very ready,” for whatever the Coronavirus outbreak brings.
Trump has appointed Vice President Mike Pence to lead a task force. House speaker Nancy Pelosi responded to Trump and called the press conference, “opaque and chaotic.”
Democratic candidate Bernie Sanders is scheduled to make his third visit to Minnesota next Monday ahead of next week’s Super Tuesday primaries. The Vermont senator is set to rally at the Saint Paul RiverCentre Monday night.
Tuesday will mark 28 years since the last presidential primary was held in Minnesota.
The Minneapolis Teachers Union is opposing a sweeping plan to reshape the public school system. The superintendent’s proposals would cut and relocate magnet schools and redraw attendance boundaries.
The union, which represents more than three-thousand teachers, wants students, parents and educators to have input.
