A bill that could ban the popular video app Tik Tok has passed the house this morning. The bill requires the Chinese owners to divest from Tik Tok within six months of its enactment or the app will be prohibited. The Chinese firm is owned by the Chinese government and lawmakers said they could demand access of Tik Tok consumers in the U.S. At any time. U.S. lawmakers say that Tik Tok won’t be banned if it finds a new owner.
President Putin of Russia has said that they are ready to use nuclear weapons if its independence is threatened, issuing another warning to the west just days before a Russian election. His most recent threat was when he warned of deepening their involvement with Ukraine, saying it would risk a nuclear war.
The DNR and fire officials in Minnesota are gearing up for a busy season of wildfires, saying it’s started six weeks early. The Minnesota Department of Public Safety says that 70 fires have already broken out this year. The lack of snow this winter is one the biggest factors for increased fire risks. The DNR says that any fire that’s at least three feet high and three feet wide requires a burning permit.
