St. Thomas students have raised concerns about the water quality in Grace Hall and Brady Education Center while the University has assured students that the water is safe.
In an email sent to residents of Grace Hall and Cretin Hall on Tuesday, Director of Residence Life Aaron Macke wrote that students were experiencing “beads” in their water because water softener beads were being flushed through the water system, but that they were flushed out again on Tuesday by staff.
The Supreme Court on Monday handed a sweeping win to former President Donald Trump by ruling that states cannot kick him off the ballot over his actions leading up to the Jan. 6 attack on the Capitol — bringing a swift end to a case with huge implications for the 2024 election.
In an unsigned ruling with no dissents, the court reversed the Colorado Supreme Court, which had determined that Trump could not serve again as president under Section 3 of the Constitution’s 14th Amendment.
Allen Weisselberg, the former chief financial officer of Donald Trump’s company, pleaded guilty Monday in New York to lying under oath during his testimony in the ex-president’s civil fraud case. His plea deal will send him back to jail but does not require him to testify at Trump’s hush-money criminal trial.
Weisselberg, 76, pleaded guilty in state court to two counts of perjury and will be sentenced to five months in jail, which would be his second stint behind bars after serving 100 days last year in an unrelated tax fraud case.
The European Union, the political and economic union of 27 member countries representing 448 million people, March 4 announced fining Apple Music — the No. 2 music streaming service globally — more than €1.8 billion ($1.95 billion) for allegedly limiting the distribution of third-party music streaming apps to iPhone and iPad (iOS) users through its App Store.
Specifically, the complaint claims Apple applied restrictions on third-party app developers preventing them from informing iOS users about alternative and cheaper music subscription services available outside of the app. This is illegal under EU antitrust rules.
Seven people were killed when debris from a Russian drone hit an apartment block in the southern Ukrainian port city of Odesa overnight, Ukraine’s State Emergency Service said Saturday. A 3-month-old baby was among the dead. A further eight people were injured, authorities said.
