Minnesota voters decide between Donald Trump and Joe Biden, COVID-19 cases rise on campus for the first time in a month and St. Thomas students can vote today using their student I.D. AD/PR representative Lauren Price has today’s News in :90.

Voters in Minnesota are deciding between President Donald Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden for president. Other top races on Tuesday’s ballot include a U.S. Senate race, all eight congressional seats and a struggle for control of the Minnesota legislature. There have been record early voting numbers. Over 1.8 million absentee ballots have already been returned and accepted, which is about 62% of the total turnout for the 2016 election, according to a tweet from a tweet late Monday from Secretary of State Steve Simon.

For the first time in a month, positive COVID-19 tests have increased on the St. Thomas campus according to numbers released Monday by the Center for Well-Being. The number of positive tests increased from 17 a week ago to 22. Cases went up among both students and employees. The Minnesota Department of Health reported nearly 3,000 new cases Monday. That brings Minnesota’s pandemic total to more than 153,000.
St. Thomas students living on campus looking to vote today can fill out their ballots at either McNeely Hall or Groveland Recreation Center. No registration is needed, students should just bring their student I.D. Follow Tommiemedia.com Tuesday night for full election coverage.
