Jason J. Eaton, age 48, was arrested Sunday, after his attempted murder of three college students of Palestinian descent who were spending their Thanksgiving break in Burlington.
According to a police affidavit, federal agents found a shotgun in Eaton’s apartment. He refused to identify himself but told the officers he had been waiting for them.
He appeared in court on Monday, speaking only to confirm his identity. His attorney entered a plea of not guilty on his behalf. The judge ordered him held without bail, pending a hearing that will likely be held in the next few days.
Israel and Hamas agreed to extend their cease-fire for two more days past Monday, the Qatari government said, bringing the prospect of a longer halt to their deadliest and most destructive war, and further exchanges of militant-held hostages for Palestinians imprisoned by Israel.
Israel has said it would extend the cease-fire by one day for every ten additional hostages released. After the Qatari announcement, Hamas confirmed it had agreed to a two-day extension “under the same terms.”
