President Donald Trump and Democratic nominee Joe Biden’s campaigns are assembling teams of lawyers in preparation for what follows the November 3 election.

On Thursday, President Trump and Biden debated on topics such as COVID-19, climate change and the election’s integrity in the final presidential debate before the election.

Resentment lingered today in Lagos, Nigeria as protests against police abuse continued. Nigerian authorities have not addressed reports that their military killed 12 peaceful demonstrators earlier this week. The demonstrations originally started with calls for the Nigerian government to shut down the special anti-robbery squad also known as SARS. Influential groups like the Feminist Coalition are calling for youth to stay home stating, “we need to stay alive to pursue our dreams to build the future.” Donations for the protests have been halted.

A Minnesota judge has dismissed a third-degree murder charge filed against the former Minneapolis police officer who pressed his knee against George Floyd’s neck. The judge said there was not enough probable cause for that count to proceed to trial. The more serious second-degree murder charge against Derek Chauvin remains. Chauvin is scheduled to go on trial in March 2021 and is currently released on bail.
