A University of Minnesota study found that NuWave, LLC’s OxyPure Air Purifier reduces porcine respiratory coronavirus (PRCV) concentration in the air.

While recirculating air purifiers remove dust, allergens, and pet dander from indoor spaces, NuWave sought to test OxyPure’s effectiveness against PRCV, a known proxy for other coronaviruses (including SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19).

Chris Hogan, professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Minnesota, said, “On the OxyPure unit we got an overall removal efficiency of 98% in our testing. The OxypPure unit can get a removal efficiency of 98% is because it uses multiple control technologies in it.”

Hurricane Zeta was speeding toward storm-weary Louisiana and intensifying, with landfall expected as a Category 2 hurricane Wednesday afternoon. New Orleans, where a pump system failure raised flood risks, was squarely in its way.

Life-threatening storm surge and strong winds were expected beginning around midday along the U.S. Gulf Coast, where residents braced for the 27th named storm of a historically busy Atlantic hurricane season.

With four days left to cast an in-person absentee ballot, and six days left to mail in ballots, voters are encouraged to vote early, either in-person or by mail. Early voters can check with local election officials for locations and schedules in their area.

Absentee ballot voters can apply by Nov. 2, but ballots must be dropped off at a local election office or ballot drop site by Nov. 3. Voters can also track the status of their ballot after it is submitted.
