Hackers have stolen $2.3 million from the Wisconsin Republican Party’s account that was being used for President Donald Trump’s re-election campaign in the key battleground state, Andrew Hitt, the party’s chairman, said Thursday.

The party noticed the suspicious activity on Oct. 22, less than two weeks before Election Day, and contacted the FBI on Friday.

Hitt said the FBI is investigating. FBI spokesman Leonard Peace did not immediately return a message seeking comment.

Trump won the state by fewer than 23,000 votes in 2016 and planned his third visit in seven days on Friday. Biden also planned to campaign in Wisconsin on Friday. Polls have consistently shown a tight race in the state, usually with Biden ahead by single digits and within the margin of error.

The campaigns for President Donald Trump and Republican state legislative candidates are petitioning the Minnesota Supreme Court to separate all mailed ballots received after Election Day in case of legal challenges to their validity.

The Republican campaigns are asking that mail-in ballots be separated into three groups: those received before the regular deadline of 8 p.m. on Tuesday, those received after the regular deadline but before 8 p.m. on Nov. 10, and those received after the extended deadline.

The petition filed Wednesday is the latest challenge to Minnesota’s seven-day extension for absentee ballots. It comes a day after a federal appeals court panel heard arguments on whether leaving the extension intact could lead to the disqualification of thousands of votes received after Nov. 3.

As temperatures drop and days shorten, Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) is once again on the rise.

  1. It is important to pay attention to Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD) because the effects can be lessened fairly easily – exercise regularly and use a SAD light for 20 minutes a day. I have done both at the same time : run on a treadmill with the SAD light at eye level next to me. I often have the SAD light on while reading my e-mail or the news in the morning. I wish I had known about these helps when I was in college and my twenties!

P.S. Sad lights are available in the libraries for use. At Keffer, we have students and staff who regularly use the light.
