The St. Thomas Center for Well-Being reported 56 positive COVID-19 tests last week. This is up from 36 cases the previous week; an increase of over 55%.

All of last week’s positive tests came from students and all but four came from the main St. Paul campus. So far, there is no evidence to suggest these transmissions are happening in classrooms or labs.

The NFL says the Minnesota Vikings and the Tennessee Titans are suspending in-person activities immediately after three Titans players and five personnel tested positive for the coronavirus.

The Vikings tweeted that as of Tuesday morning the team had not received any positive test results following Sunday’s 30-31 loss to Tennessee.

President Donald Trump and Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden will face off tonight in their first debate leading up to the presidential election, now just five weeks away.

The debate could be a pivotal moment in a race that has remained unchanged in the face of historic tumult. Both candidates will offer their different visions for a country facing multiple crises, including racial justice protests and a pandemic that has killed more than 200,000 Americans and cost millions of jobs.

Recent revelations that President Trump is personally liable for more than $400 million in debt are casting a shadow that ethics experts say raises national security concerns he could be manipulated to sway U.S. policy by organizations or individuals he’s indebted to.

The debate is set for 8 p.m. Central time.
