The St. Thomas softball team rebounded after two losses Friday to defeat Denison University 10-2 Saturday in the Leadoff Classic in Panama City, Fla.
The Tommies were led by junior Megan Noskowiak, who went three-for-three with a home run and four RBIs. Senior Alison Wright and freshman Kimmy Hassel also added three hits. The Tommies had 15 total hits and sophomore Christy Gries pitched a complete game, giving up 10 hits and two runs with five strikeouts.
The Tommies then took on Alma College in the first round of the Silver Bracket and won 3-2 in eight innings.
Wright had two of the team’s five hits and knocked in freshman Alyssa Dunrud from second base for the game-winning run. Senior Marta Radcliffe pitched a solid five-and-two-thirds innings in relief, giving up only three hits with five strikeouts.
St. Thomas will play Central College Sunday morning with the winner advancing to the Silver Bracket Championship.
