Two new clubs were approved at the USG weekly meeting Sept. 20.
Council on Middle Eastern Studies (COMES) and the Paintball Club both received unanimous approval from USG and are now official student organizations.
COMES plans to hold monthly meetings and various events for students interested in learning about Middle Eastern culture. It also plans on co-hosting a “Saudi-American Day” later this semester with the Saudi Club.
USG elections begin this Tuesday, but there are currently no candidates for freshman resident senator, residential senator and transfer senator.
These positions can be filled through the general election if a qualified student receives enough write-in votes.
Discounting a major write-in campaign, these positions will be filled in during a special election after the general elections this week.
Elections run through Thursday.
