On March 7, 2014, at 12:15 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity in Ireland Residence Hall. A Residence Life staff member reported a prayer book was found in a toilet in the lower level restroom.
On March 7, 2014, at 6 p.m., Public Safety documented a complaint at the shuttle stop on Harmon Place. A St. Thomas student reported a shuttle bus driver was belligerent toward her and other students.
On March 7, 2014, at 10:40 p.m., Public Safety, St. Paul Fire and Police Departments responded to suspicious activity in Brady Residence Hall. An object in the Brady elevator, causing irritation to persons attempting to use the elevator, was determined to be a snowball soaked with mace.
On March 8, 2014, at 2:30 p.m., Public Safety documented damage to property in Ireland Residence Hall. The door and frame of a St. Thomas student’s first-floor residence were forcibly damaged.
On March 8, 2014, at 4:03 p.m., Public Safety documented a disturbance in Anderson Athletic and Recreation Center. Three unidentified individuals pushed three office chairs down the center AARC stairs, damaging two of the chairs.
On March 9, 2014, at 4:33 a.m., Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Brady Residence Hall. An underage guest of a St. Thomas student, observed trying door handles in Brady, was also found to have consumed alcohol.
On March 9, 2014, at 3:57 p.m., Public Safety documented property damage at Brady Education Center. A gutter and window were damaged as a result of falling ice from the roof.
On March 11, 2014, at 10:11 a.m., Public Safety reported damage to property on the 2200 block of Summit Avenue. The rear driver’s side window of non-St. Thomas affiliated person’s parked vehicle was found shattered.
On March 12, 2014, at 12:50 a.m., Public Safety documented damage to property at on the 2100 block of Grand Avenue. A St. Thomas neighbor reported three St. Thomas students damaged a plant pot in his yard.
On March 12, 2014, at 4:47 a.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Brady Residence Hall. A significantly intoxicated underage St. Thomas student was sent home with a parent.
On March 12, 2014, at 9:23 a.m., Public Safety reported a motor vehicle accident near the intersection of Cretin and Grand Avenues. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual’s vehicle, damaged and rendered inoperable due to hitting a large pot hole, was later towed from the area.
On March 12, 2014, at 9:56 p.m., Public Safety documented property damage in Morrison Hall R2 Parking Garage. A non-affiliated individual reported its car was keyed while parked in R2.
On March 12, 2014, at 4:51 p.m. Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Lot 3. An unidentified individual reported as panhandling, who also fit a description of a suspect previously removed from campus, could not be located upon officers’ search of the area.
On March 12, 2014, at 10:57 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with an odor of marijuana at 2085 Grand Ave. A St. Thomas student was found to be in possession of marijuana and related paraphernalia.
On March 13, 2014, at 12:48 a.m., Public Safety responded to suspicious activity on the 1700 block of Dayton Avenue. An unidentified vehicle parked on the block, which a St. Thomas student reported had been there for some time, left the area upon being approached by officers.
Legalize cannabis! Prohibitionist laws are discriminatory by nature and cause much more harm than they remove. There is no reason that possession of a plant and glass should result in students loosing equal access to Federal Loans. That being said, it is important to be courteous of neighbors while partaking in combustion.
If Public Safety wanted to look into it more, I was walking through the AARC when the chairs were pushed down the stairs, and it was done by some high schoolers, I believe from Cretin.
