Between April 1 and April 5, Public Safety documented a burglary on the 1800 block of Portland Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported a garage on the block was burglarized.
On April 8, 2014, at 6:59 a.m., Public Safety documented harassment in Terrence Murphy Hall. A university employee reported he received unwanted, threatening contact from a non-St. Thomas affiliated individual.
On April 8, 2014, at 6:32 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the 2100 block of Selby Avenue. Two unidentified individuals, reported as looking into vehicles along the block, could not be located upon officers’ check of the area.
On April 8, 2014, at 7:51 p.m., Public Safety and St. Paul Police Department responded to solicitation in the Anderson Student Center. An unaccompanied minor soliciting for money was taken home by SPPD.
On April 9, 2014, at 4:26 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the 1900 block of Lincoln Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported she was approached by an unidentified individual, outside of her residence, who asked several suspicious questions.
On April 11, 2014, at 1:35 a.m., Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation on the 2100 block of Summit Avenue. An intoxicated non-St. Thomas affiliated individual, urinating on campus, was trespassed from the university and sent home with a parent.
On April 11, 2014, at 2:08 a.m., Public Safety responded to public urination outside of 2110 Summit Avenue. A St. Thomas student urinating on the side of 10S was identified by officers and sent home.
On April 11, 2014, at 2:40 p.m., Public Safety documented a suspicious activity in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. Two St. Thomas students reported a third student made a threatening comment towards them.
On April 12, 2014, at 12:24 a.m., Public Safety and St. Paul Police Department responded to a liquor law violation on the 2000 block of Lincoln Avenue. An underage St. Thomas student, who consumed alcohol and fled from officers, was cited by SPPD for underage consumption.
On April 12, 2014, at 1:14 a.m., Public Safety reported a medical at Lincoln Avenue and Finn Street. A St. Thomas employee who fell at the intersection and cut his or her hand and leg was assisted by an officer and declined further medical attention.
On April 12, 2014, at 2:08 a.m., Public Safety documented damage to property in Ireland Residence Hall. The glass pane of a fourth floor fire extinguisher case was found to have been forcibly removed.
On April 12, 2014, at 2:12 a.m., Public Safety and the Saint Paul Police Department responded to a DWI on the Flynn Residence Hall turnaround. SPPD arrested a St. Thomas student for operating a vehicle while intoxicated.
On April 13, 2014, at 1:03 a.m., Public Safety responded to public urination outside of 2151 Grand Avenue. An underage St. Thomas student, urinating on 51G, was also found to have consumed alcohol.
On April 13, 2014, at 2:40 a.m., Public Safety responded to a disturbance at Selby and Cleveland avenues. A St. Thomas student, who made an obscene gesture at officers, was identified and sent home.
On April 13, 2014, at 9:26 a.m., Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation in Koch Commons. An underage intoxicated St. Thomas student was sent off campus with a sober caregiver.
Between April 12 and April 13, Public Safety documented a theft outside of Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas employee reported an A-frame parking sign outside the entrance to the student center’s parking garage was stolen.
Between April 12 and April 13, Public Safety documented a damage to property on the 2000 block of Sargent Avenue. A St. Thomas neighbor reported several parked vehicles on the block were damaged by unidentified persons leaving a residence in the area.
On April 14, 2014, at 3:50 p.m., Public Safety responded to a noise complaint at St. John Vianney. St. Thomas students playing music from a loudspeaker system through a window were advised to turn the music down.
On April 15, 2014, Public Safety responded to suspicious activity in Terrence Murphy Hall. Two non-St. Thomas affiliated individuals were escorted by officers off campus.
Between April 12 and April 15, Public Safety documented a theft in Brady Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported his debit card was stolen from his residence.
On April 14, 2014, at 2:35 p.m., Public Safety and Saint Paul Fire Department responded to a fire at the O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. A food item caught on fire in a microwave in the lower level area but caused no injuries or damages.
On April 15, 2014, at 10:07 a.m., Public Safety and Residence Life assisted the parents of a St. Thomas student with a welfare check in Brady Residence Hall. The parent’s student, reported as possibly in crisis, was located in Brady and sent home with the parents.
On April 16, 2014, at 8:46 p.m., Public Safety documented a medical at McNeely Hall. A St. Thomas employee reported he injured his hip while working in the building, but did not require further medical care.
On April 17, 2014, at 1:54 a.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Cretin Residence Hall. Three underage St. Thomas students possessed and consumed alcohol.
On April 17, 2014, at 5:59 a.m., Public Safety and the Saint Paul Police Department responded to a suspicious vehicle in Lot O. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual, who had previous contact with Public Safety, was trespassed from campus.
On April 17, 2014, at 2:58 p.m., Public Safety documented a hit and run motor vehicle accident in Lot K. A St. Thomas student reported her parked vehicle was struck, causing minor damage to the front bumped of the vehicle.
On April 17, 2014, at 6:12 p.m., Public Safety documented damage to property in the lower level of Ireland Residence Hall. Several ceiling tiles, reported to have fallen from the ceiling, were determined to have been damaged as a result of a clogged drain on the floor above.
On April 17, 2014, at 6:53 p.m., Public Safety reported a policy violation in Flynn Residence Hall. Two St. Thomas students were found to have tampered with fire safety equipment in a residence.
On April 18, 2014, at 10:27 p.m., Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a trespass violation on the Lower Quad. A former St. Thomas student, previously trespassed from campus, was arrested and cited for trespassing and underage consumption.
On April 18, 2014, at 12:45 a.m., Public Safety reported a drug law violation in Brady Residence Hall. Two St. Thomas students were found in possession of marijuana.
On April 18, 2014, at 1:08 a.m., Public Safety documented a domestic assault at Cleveland Avenue and Marshall Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported a St. Thomas student was arrested for assaulting his girlfriend.
On April 18, 2014, at 2:44 a.m., Public Safety assisted a St. Thomas student with a welfare check in the Morrison Hall Public Safety Office. A second student, who the first student was attempting to reach, was later located on the Upper Quad and was okay.
On April 18, 2014, at 9:07 a.m., Public Safety reported suspicious activity in Terrence Murphy Hall. An unidentified individual was observed exiting a classroom and then left the building via the skyway.
On April 19, 2014, at 2:36 a.m., Public Safety responded to a DWI in Morrison Hall R2 Parking Garage. A disorderly, intoxicated, of-age student, later found in Flynn Residence Hall and illegally in possession of prescription medications, was arrested and taken to detox by SPPD.
On April 22, 2014, at 8:10 p.m., Public Safety documented a suspicious person outside of Murray-Herrick Campus Center. A St. Thomas student reported she was approached by an unidentified individual who made unwanted advances and followed her to O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library.
On April 22, 2014, at 1:30 p.m., Public Safety documented damage to property in Lot M. A St. Thomas student reported his vehicle was keyed while parked in the lot.
On April 23, 2014, at 5:29 p.m., Public Safety documented damage to property at Anderson Athletic and Recreation Complex. A door handle was ripped off a locker room door.
On April 23, 2014, at 5:45 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft in O’Shaughnessy-Frey Library Center. A St. Thomas student reported her wallet was taken from her unattended her backpack.
On April 25, 2014, at 1:37 a.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the 100 block of Cleveland Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported the gas cap of her vehicle had been tampered with.
On April 25, 2014, at 10:30 a.m., Public Safety documented a burglary on the 100 block of Cretin Avenue N. A St. Thomas student reported an unknown suspect unlawfully entered her off-campus residence and stole several pieces of property.
On April 25, 2014, at 8:42 p.m., Public Safety assisted Residence Life with an odor of marijuana in Ireland Residence Hall. While investigating the odor, an underage St. Thomas student was found in possession of alcohol.
On April 25, 2014, at 11:44 p.m., Public Safety, Residence Life, and St. Paul Fire Department Medics responded to a liquor law violation in Ireland Residence Hall. A severely intoxicated non-affiliated juvenile was transported by medics to an area hospital for further medical attention.
On April 26, 2014, at 1:05 a.m., The St. Paul Police Department responded to a noise/party complaint on the 2000 block of Laurel Avenue. SPPD reported they cleared a large group of people from a residence on the block and cited four students for underage consumption.
On April 26, 2014, at 12:22 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft in Schulze Hall. A St. Thomas guest reported his unattended laptop was stolen.
On April 26, 2014, at 11:27 p.m., Public Safety and SPPD responded to disorderly conduct in Dowling Residence Hall. A student who caused a disturbance in Dowling Residence Hall, and was later found to have consumed alcohol and possessed drug paraphernalia, was cited by SPPD for disorderly conduct.
On April 27, 2014, at 11 p.m., Public Safety documented suspicious activity on the 1900 block of Marshall Avenue. A St. Thomas student reported she was photographed by an unidentified individual, who then fled the scene, as she was leaving another student’s residence.
On April 28, 2014, at 8:27 p.m., Public Safety documented damage to property at the MacPhail building. Orange paint graffiti was found on the east side of the building.
On April 28, 2014, at 1 p.m.,Public Safety documented suspicious activity in the O’Shaughnessy Science Hall. A St. Thomas student reported a non-St. Thomas affiliated individual contacted him through social media and attempted to get money from him as part of an online-based scam.
On April 28, 2014, at 3:30 p.m., Public Safety documented a motor vehicle accident on the 30 block of South Finn Street. A non-St. Thomas affiliated individual reported he or she struck a car parked on the block but did not cause any damage.
On April 29, 2014, at 12:42 p.m., Public Safety documented damage to property at 2166 Summit Avenue. A St. Thomas employee reported the side door to the garage had been forcibly opened and damaged.
On April 29, 2014, at 8:45 p.m., Public Safety documented a theft in Ireland Residence Hall. A St. Thomas student reported his unattended tablet device was stolen from the computer lab.
On April 29, 2014, at 9:56 p.m., Public Safety responded to a medical in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A St. Thomas student who suffered a burn to her finger while working in Owens Science Hall was assisted by an officer and declined further medical attention.
