Public Safety Briefs: Oct. 30 – Nov. 10

On October 30 at 1:34 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with suspicious activity in Dowling Residence Hall. Inappropriate writing was found written by two St. Thomas students on dry erase boards on room doors in the building.

On October 30 at 5:17 p.m. Public Safety responded to a welfare check in Dowling Residence Hall. A parent of a St. Thomas student reported concerns about unanswered phone calls.

On October 30 at 10:17 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Dowling Residence Hall. An underage intoxicated guest unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages.

On October 30 at 10:44 p.m. Public Safety documented a disturbance on the 2000 block of Goodrich Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported unidentified individuals destroying political signs in the area.

On October 30 at 11:11 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a medical on the 2100 block of Fairmount Avenue. An underage intoxicated St. Thomas student unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages and attempted to get into a house in the area.

On October 30 at 11:17 p.m. Public Safety responded to a disturbance on the 2100 block of Lincoln Avenue. An anonymous university neighbor reported vehicle parking on the street in the area.

On October 30 at 11:45 p.m. Public Safety responded to a disturbance on Grand Avenue. A university neighbor reported noise and foot traffic coming from the area near Flynn Street South.

On October 30 at 11:59 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a disturbance on the 2100 block of Lincoln Avenue. A loud house party hosted by a St. Thomas student was disbanded.

On October 31 at 12:09 p.m. Public Safety responded to a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student and an underage guest unlawfully consumed and possesed alcoholic beverages.

On October 31 at 2:07 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a disturbance in Morrison Hall. An underage intoxicated St. Thomas student unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages, an underage St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed and consumed alcoholic beverages, and three underage St. Thomas students unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages.

On October 31 at 5:58 a.m. Public Safety documented a traffic collision on Summit Avenue. A motor vehicle driven by an unknown person crashed into a traffic control device at the intersection with Cleveland Avenue, and failed to stop and notify the City of St. Paul to provide information as required by law.

On October 31 at 3:12 p.m. Public Safety documented property damage in Lot B. A St. Thomas student accidentally struck a university vehicle with a baseball, breaking the windshield.

On November 1 at 1:51 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Tommie East Hall. An underage St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed alcoholic beverages, two underage St. Thomas students unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages, and a guest unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages.

On November 2 at 1:46 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department documented theft on the 400 block of Snelling Avenue South. A wallet containing personal property was snatched from the hand of a St. Thomas student by an unknown subject, who subsequently used a financial transaction card to commit fraud at an area business.

On November 2 at 6:04 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Tommie North Hall. A St. Thomas student reported pain and swelling in a foot.

On November 2 at 6:19 p.m. Public Safety responded to fraud in Anderson Student Center. A fictitious driver’s licence was located while property inventorying an unattended wallet found in the building.

On November 2 at 8:11 p.m. Public Safety documented theft on campus. The investigation determined three bags stolen from near Lot U were placed inside the hatchback of a car parked in the area by the owner of the property.

On November 2 at 8:21 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with suspicious odor in Flynn Residence Hall. An underage St. Thomas student unlawfully used and possessed marijuana and drug paraphernalia, and unlawfully possessed alcoholic beverages.

On November 3 at 12:59 p.m. Public Safety documented property damage at O’Shaughnessy Stadium. A St. Thomas employee pushing a garbage cart struck a motor vehicle parked in the area, causing damage to a tail light.

On November 3 at 1:18 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Morrison Hall. A St. Thomas employee reported suffering from a medical disorder.

On November 4 at 12:36 a.m.. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Morrison Hall. An underage St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed Psilocybin mushrooms, THC oil, a small amount of marijuana, marijuana edibles, drug paraphernalia and alcoholic beverages, an underage St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed a small amount of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and alcoholic beverages, an underage St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed THC oil and alcoholic beverages, and an underage St. Thomas student unlawfully possessed alcoholic beverages.

On November 4 at 6:04 p.m. Public Safety responded to a disturbance in Flynn Residence Hall. An anonymous reported an unregistered cat in distress in a room in the building.

On November 5 at 4:50 p.m. Public Safety assisted the St. Louis Park Police Department in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A background investigation was conducted on a former St. Thomas employee.

On November 5 at 4:52 p.m Public Safety assisted the United States Office of Personnel Management in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A background investigation was conducted on a former St. Thomas student.

On November 6 at 10:15 a.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Tommie North Hall. A student reported a deep laceration to a finger.

On November 6 at 12:17 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity on campus. A St. Thomas student reported a missing package identified as delivered to the outside of 2110 Summit Avenue.

On November 6 at 2:49 p.m. Public Safety and the Title IX office documented sexual assault at an unknown off-campus location. A St. Thomas student reported a St. Thomas student that was involved in rape.

On November 6 at 3:05 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to theft on campus and in Brady Educational Center. A St. Thomas student reported money stolen by another St. Thomas student.

On November 6 at 8:17 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. Two underage St. Thomas students unlawfully possessed and consumed alcoholic beverages, and an underage St. Thomas student unlawfully consumed alcoholic beverages.

On November 6 at 8:58 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a liquor law violation in Dowling Residence Hall. Alcoholic beverages were found in a room occupied by underage St. Thomas students.

On November 6 at 10:14 p.m. Public Safety assisted the Grand Chute Police Department in the Morrison Hall Public Safety office. A background investigation was conducted on a former St. Thomas student.

On November 6 at 10:58 p.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department responded to a disturbance on the 1900 block of Marshall Avenue. A university neighbor reported a loud party at an apartment complex at an apartment complex in the area.

On November 7 at 1:45 a.m. Public Safety documented a burglary off campus. The St. Paul police department reported unlawful entry into a structure west of the O’Shaughnessy Stadium.

On November 7 at 10:09 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Dowling Residence Hall. The source of the odor of marijuana could not be determined.

On November 8 at 12:18 a.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Dowling Residence Hall. The source of the odor of marijuana could not be determined.

On November 8 at 7:14 a.m. Public Safety documented property damage in Tommie North Hall. An exit sign was intentionally damaged by a St. Thomas student.

On November 8 at 9:15 a.m. Public Safety documented a disturbance in Tommie North Hall. A university neighbor reported a loud work truck in the loading dock of the building.

On November 8 at 11:37 a.m. Public Safety and the St. Paul Police Department documented theft on the 1900 block of Igleheart Avenue. A motor vehicle owned by a St. Thomas student was stolen from in front of a house in the area.

On November 8 at 12:35 p.m. Public Safety documented property damage on Anderson Student Center. A St. Thomas student reported accidentally damaging an exterior lamp on the building.

On November 8 at 4:35 p.m. Public Safety reported to a medical on campus. A St. Thomas student fell outside Morrison Hall while rollerblading, causing injury to the arm.

On November 8 at 9:15 p.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity in the R2 level of the Morrison Hall garage. A motor vehicle owned by a St. Thomas student was found with a piece of paper and a swear word on it.

On November 8 at 11:13 p.m. Public Safety responded to a welfare check in Tommie North Hall. A parent and a friend of a St. Thomas student reported concerns about unanswered phone calls.

On November 9 at 11:13 a.m. Public Safety documented a burglary at the Byrne Residence. A resident of the building reported a bicycle locked inside the garage was stolen from the structure.

On November 9 at 11:44 a.m. Public Safety documented suspicious activity off campus. A St. Thomas student reported another student failed to uphold a contractual obligation resulting in financial loss.

On November 9 at 12:13 a.m. Public Safety documented a classroom complaint in O’Shaughnessy Educational Center.

On November 9 at 3:20 Public Safety and the Title IX office documented sexual assault off campus in St. Paul. A person not affiliated with St. Thomas reported being raped by a St. Thomas student.

On November 9 at 5:23 p.m. Public Safety documented threats on the 300 block of Wilder Street North. An individual threatened residents of a house in the area and later allegedly slashed tires on vehicles parked behind the dwelling.

On November 9 at 9:23 p.m. Public Safety responded to a medical in Tommie North Hall. A St. Thomas student with asthma reported trouble breathing and chest pains.

On November 10 at 8:14 a.m. Public Safety responded to a welfare check in Flynn Residence Hall. A St. Thomas employee reported a parent expressed concerns about the health of a St. Thomas student.

On November 10 at 11:02 a.m. Public Safety assisted the United States Office of Personnel Management in the Morrison Public Safety office. A background investigation was conducted on a former St. Thomas student.

On November 10 at 4:12 p.m. Public Safety document assault in Burnsville. A St. Thomas student was arrested and booked into the Dakota County Adult Detention Center for third degree assault involving substantial bodily harm.

On November 10 at 5:28 p.m. Public Safety documented theft on the 1900 block of Igleheart Avenue. The St. Paul Police Department reported a license plate stolen from a motor vehicle parked in the area.

On November 10 at 6:46 p.m. Public Safety assisted Residence Life with a suspicious odor in Murray Residence Hall. The source of the odor of marijuana could not be determined.
