More than 1,200 people attended PULSE’s semi-annual show, Arrhythmia, on May 9.

This semester’s performances brought a wider variety of dance genres than previous shows, something senior Keeley Norton said she appreciates.

“A lot of times we see PULSE shows that have a lot of hip-hop, but this one was definitely more balanced with some contemporary numbers, some hip-hop numbers, swing dancing and like all kinds of things,” Norton said. “So I think that kind of made it more interesting for the audience to watch and more fun to just be a part of as well.”

Hip-hop dancing is a PULSE staple and is popular amongst the crowd. Senior Nathaniel Binversie said his favorite dance was the hip-hop inspired “Talk Dirty to Me.”

“That was a great dance—phenomenally done, lots of energy. It was great—lots of fun,” Binversie said. “It was just so great to see the energy and the bonding that they had … to give it all one last dance.”

Sophomore Kacie Pahl said that PULSE’s bonded community is her favorite part about the organization.

“You end up being in a lot of dances with the same people, and the connection that you make with everyone is just so strong—like you make life-long friends just being in a dance for an hour a week,” Pahl said.

This spring’s PULSE show was the last for graduating seniors, and Norton said she will always remember PULSE.

“PULSE is just like such a great welcoming club, and it’s been so much fun to be a part of it for the last three years. I just can’t imagine that this is the last one, but it’s really exciting,” Norton said. “I think that everyone really came together and made it a great last semester for all of the seniors.”
