Purple Gloves is a mixed martial arts group that was started by seniors Zach Huberty and Charlie Luckie with little equipment and no funding.

“We put a lot of time and effort into making the club what it is today,” Luckie said.

It is free for students here on campus and equipment is provided. The club meets at 6:30 every Monday and Wednesday night in room 113 in the AARC for hour-long sessions.

Workouts are heavily focused on bag work, mitt work, and free hand wraps are provided for students every session. One of the lead instructors Demi Adediran said he has seen a slight increase in participation this semester compared to the fall, however he would like to see participation grow throughout the spring semester.
