The St. Thomas softball team dropped both games 10-2 and 9-2 in the home-opening doubleheader Saturday against the University of South Dakota at South Field.
The Tommies were able to salvage the weekend series against South Dakota. Sophomore shortstop Sydney Mickett was the hero for the Tommies, hitting a two-run walk-off single in the bottom of the seventh inning to seal the comeback win.
St. Thomas baseball split their doubleheader with North Dakota State University Saturday, winning the first game 6-0 and losing the second 4-1.
Fifth-year third baseman Kyle Halverson hit four home runs in the series, however, the Tommies narrowly fell to the Summit League-leading Bison 8-7 on Sunday, giving North Dakota the series win.
St. Thomas women’s tennis faced the University of South Dakota Saturday, falling 6-1 to the Coyotes.
